Tim says I need a hitlist…

well today’s candidate is Tesco Baby and Toddler club. I’ve just received the toddler winter 2004 issues – cover articles are

  • Time for ‘big’ school
  • Helping your child to make friends
  • The importance of quiet time
  • Tasty ideas for lunchboxes

Not too surprisingly, although there are hints and tips on how to lower your stress level while taking your child to school, there isn’t one mention of the fact that you don’t actually have to do it.

The email address is todwin4-5yrs@theforwardgroup.com and you could win one of two hampers filled with a selection of great products (although if the coupons that came with this are anything to go by, pampers and nestle could feature highly (ooh, just gone and retrieved the letter from the recycling bin, the hamper would appear to contain slate and chalks, big art set, roller stamper set, mini carrots ??, rice cakes, low far yoghurts, babybel cheese and what looks suspiciously like a leap pad.)) for writing in with your comments.

Anyone else care to join?

  1. ROFLOL Jax – my exact thoughts when I got that letter too.

  2. grr! Happy to say I don’t have any of those sorts of things any more (never bothered registering Joe having chucked most of the previous two lots away, don’t think I ever bought anything coupon-worthy!), but if I did I’d be hopping mad along with you …

  3. So both use the email address and write in! I’ve suggested that they might want to mention that home education is legal and growing and give some contact information for it…and you never know, I could win a hamper!

  4. We were watching Cbeebies at the weekend – Tha Magic Key, which I’ve never seen before and there was a bit on it where a kid had to choose between going to school or joining the circus. He chose school – much to the amazement of all his chums, until he explained his choice ‘I want to be Prime Minister and you can’t be Prime Minister unless you go to school’. Davies clearly registered it, although he is not actually aware of what a Prime Minister is. SO wrong on SO many levels I don’t actually know where to start or whether to just write it off and laugh at it…

  5. Seen that one here too – Dino said he’d go to the circus for a bit but I could go with him for his questions! Bless him – I think?

  6. Arrgh. I hate all that not-so-subtle brainwashing about needing to go to school to learn. Even though sometimes its tempting to say it myself!

  7. Today when we were in the Theatre for the panto we were surrounded by school children to the front in red to the back in green – very festive I thought LOL. When they were all lined up outside in twos and the obligatory two ‘trouble makers’ were yanked to the front of the line – I said in a loud voice ‘It’s alright darling you will never have to do that!’

  8. PS I said this in an earlier post Jax but Happy Birthday to you and I hope you had a good one. xxx
