Sheffield puddlers

Another late morning – must get a grip on this. Mornings are drifting and bedtimes are slipping and before I know it it’s lunchtime and time to go out…I made gloop this morning and then didn’t get around to putting the washing in, so we’re getting very close to an underwear crisis (I *hate* that).

Anyway, when I suddenly realised that we needed to leave NOW, was the moment that Small of course did disgusting things in his nappy requiring a bath to sort out as his rear end is too sore to clean properly by any other method. 🙁 I’m beginning to think he is sensitive to something he is eating, or maybe he’s teething again? This stuff could strip paint, and has a similar affect on his skin.

So we were half an hour late to the meeting again, there’s a surprise. We hadn’t got a specific activity planned – I grabbed a pile of scrap store stuff as I was leaving and J turned up similarly equipped, so we popped a couple of tables together and various children did various messy sticky stuff from time to time, or ran around playing and generally were very happy with it. One new face today, who looked a bit shell shocked by the noise level – hope we didn’t put her off.

Did manage to get a bit more discussion going about the constitution and group set up and what we all want from it – seems like we could have a really good group going quite easily. Lots of debate over charges – J strongly favoured a sliding charge so that ppl coming from further away would be charged less, which wasn’t something I’d considered, so good to have more input there. Barbara had done some great work on the constitution – so I think we’re well on the way to being organised there. Must do some more work on the website!

Home for tea, bath and bed, but both children slept in the car, so were both reluctant to comply. Small managed to headbutt me in the left eye while I was still wearing my glasses so I now have an absolutely stonking headache. Thinking about clearing off to the pull out bed in the hope that I might get a slightly better night of it…

  1. You’re *very* brave to tackle a sliding scale. i have never managed to do that without causing major ructions, as there will always be someone who does (or who believes they do) come off unfairly in how the scale is adjusted. But it sounds exciting 🙂

  2. Excellent, a chance to try out the <acronym> tag: SMP.

  3. Oops, forgot to add: Lots of little processing units :~)

  10. Oh good – I was afraid that the noise level might have put you off – I’d say it’s not always that bad, but I’m afraid I’d be lying :-))

  11. Noise? What noise? *giggles as I take out the ear plugs!*
