So far so good

Dp provided dd with some printed out map templates this morning, and she coloured them in – educational activities before I was even awake! And we both think that the welsh flag looks great with a blue sky and added sun 😉

I got out some air hardening clay that has been kicking around for ages and we made letter beads – we’re waiting for them to dry now. It’s my first attempt at anything like this, so I’m not sure how well it’s going to turn out. It will be educational for both of us.

And right now it’s too hot for anything – Small is napping which is just as well, and dd is sitting waiting for her lunch (I’m defrosting some bread). I’ve got some work to do this aft, so I think we might stay inside while it’s hottest and go back out later. I quite enjoyed gardening last night, and the sweetcorn isn’t dead yet…so I might do some more tonight. To expand, it isn’t the digging or getting dirty I enjoy – in fact I really don’t enjoy that. But bizarrely I like the feeling of being tired after I’ve actually done something, and I am finding growing things very satisfying. Now if my potato forest would actually produce potatoes…

  1. I’ll remind about that potato comment in 5 years time when they’re taking over your garden 😉

  2. Nah, they’re in buckets!

  3. Have you actually dared to rummage for your potatoes yet?

  4. yes, and it was very disheartening. We only found two, and they were teeny. 🙁
