for Big at least 🙂

Knowing that she had to be offthepath for 1pm I dragged myself out of bed in plenty of time to get Big going. It turned out to be in plenty of time to have many running battles, on what to wear, how to speak to ppl, when to get dressed and so on and so forth. It was a less than pleasant morning 🙁 Still we somehow managed to be in the car pretty much on time, only to run into roadworks in town that slowed us down. Oh well. I’m assuming that they did all make it to the cinema on time, or I’d have been told by now.

Small was not going to the party but to my surprise he didn’t seem at all bothered. He spent large parts of the day playing with Geomags, even finding a second set of panels, so that he could build all sorts of different solids. “Look Mummy, I built a cube!”

He was excited to hear that his reserved library book had finally moved out of transit and reached the library, so after I’d dropped off Big, (and had a cup of tea with Barbara 🙂 ) I came home and took him round to the library to pick it up. It was Secret of the Pyramid and when we got back home he sat himself down next to me on the sofa and read it cover to cover. Except chapter 1, which he’d already read because it was in the back of the previous book.

Tim spent a fun half hour or so, printing out the passport from the Magic Tree House site, and adding the three stamps Small has earned so far. Small is thrilled with it, and we’ve ordered book 4, though I don’t know whether it will arrive before we move. If it doesn’t, then we’ll order it again in Suffolk.

After he’d done his reading, we tidied up the geomags together (all present and correct you’ll be pleased to hear 😉 ) and then we sat down as a slightly reduced family to watch Men In Black. Small really enjoyed it, and afterwards we had a pleasant family meal and now he’s gone to bed.

It’s been a lovely day, I hope Big is having a lovely evening too 🙂
