Music group, then picnic and sports day in a local park. Lovely afternoon, many friends.
We didn’t make it to music in time for theory, which wasn’t a huge problem in that Small has stopped taking part in music altogether and Big had forgotten to do her homework so didn’t want to do theory anyway. Although I was trying to get there in time, I just wasn’t allowed to get up when the alarm went off because the baby was starving as she hadn’t fed for ooh, an hour or so 🙁 So by the time I’d chivvied, breakfasted, fed babe, dressed us and made it lunch it was time for theory. Which was a shame as we’d still 12 minutes travelling to do 🙁
Will get there. One day. Hate being constantly late though.
Music was good, soa really enjoys just playing on the floor now, which makes for a pleasant hour though does mean I have to sit on the floor with her. Must improve posture as end up with all sorts of nerve twinges from it.
And on to the park for a sports day. Which was traumatic for Big for all sorts of reasons, mainly because she is bigger than all the rest and finds it difficult to fit in. But we rode it through and I think she did mainly have a good time, although I found it very wearing.
Small had a great time. Hadn’t told him that R and his mum were coming, so that was a lovely surprise, and made even better when he got the replacement toy for the one R had accidentally broken. Given it had come in a two pack meant that R had the other one, so they sat and companionably transformered for a while, although they both joined in with at least one race which impressed me.
Other than that Small just seemed to be slightly out of sync – so he changed into getting wet gear just as all the other kids were getting out of the pool. Could have been a problem but Big came to the rescue by going and getting into the water with him, which also meant she was occupied away from the main group, no bad thing in itself.
Home in time for Big’s friend C to be dropped off pre Brownies – her mum having one of those “be in two places” crisis of motherhood evenings. Happy to help 🙂 Tim took the girls round to Brownies and Small decompressed on some game on the laptop – he wasn’t desperately impressed at being dragged out to Brownies to see their Brownies got talent entry though. Tim and I enjoyed it 🙂
And finally home for a late and therefore convenience tea. Instead of pasta being a mainstay of our diet, it’s now an occasional when it’s too late to cook stand in, and usually comes with broccoli and cheese so not such a terrible alternative. Tim and I had tomato and wild mushroom sauce, which just isn’t as good as tomato and basil, although it is good.
So that was Weds. Will need to get permission to share photos, as they all have someone else in them. Hoping to be able to share the one of Em and Big doing three legged race though, as I really like it 🙂
