Making progress

little boxes...

We started to excavate the garage today. Which meant we got about ten or so boxes out, and I started to go through them. I kept 20% of the books. 4 large boxes into the carboot to go to a charity shop tomorrow. Another pile of stuff stacked on the back seat as well. And the recycling bin and rubbish bin loaded up too.

I have to see this as progress. Even though I *hate* getting rid of stuff. Absolutely loathe it. It stresses me out beyond belief, I don’t feel liberated by the decluttering. I’d like to, but I just don’t.

Gonna hope that sooner or later I feel destressed by being able to get more organised though.

i hate getting rid of stuff too, but think might have to bite the bullet!

    1. Dunno why you ended up in moderation there, sorry! I have yet to actually make the charity shop run to get rid of it all. That’s the worst bit, handing it over…

  2. I have done walking into a charity shop, just putting the bag down and walking away.

    1. There’s so much in the car I’m going to have to get someone to help me unload it…

  3. This is amazing! What day are you on in the 30 day plan? Have you got enough left to do to fill the remaining days? You seem to have done so much. I am in awe – Rachel

    1. Hi Rachel tbh, I’ve rather lost track *blush*. But I feel like I’m just getting into it, really hitting my stride now. So if I’ve finishsed the first 30, I’m setting straight off on the second…

  4. LOL – our garden looked much the same today, as our garage had a blitz. Jim took the dishwasher which I loved but which doesn’t work any more (too costly to repair, and we got another one freegled anyway) and some surplus to requirements furniture to the tip (the community furniture recycling guys said there was no demand for it)
But – and its a big but – we can now access both doors to the garage, and easily get out the bikes 🙂
I hate to see stuff thrown out when I think its still got life in it – but I think there’s life in everything…
    Well done you!

    1. @Debbie I am much the same. What if I need it someday? It’s still useful…but at least it feels like someone else might get use out of it.
