Having had a week of hectic days and very many ppl, I decided we needed a quiet day at home. So obviously when we got a text at lunchtime suggesting a meet up at the local play area we regretfully declined.
Or maybe not 🙂
Of course we went to the park. It took some persuasion – have I mentioned recently that we’re not good with the whole popping out scenario? And there was trauma on the way when we spotted Em going in a different direction to us, even though she was supposed to be meeting us there. And further trauma when we walked through some mud on the path and Small got it in his shoe and wanted to come home to clean it off.
But all was sorted when we met up and Em had icecreams (enough for two for each of the children!) and I wiped off his foot with baby wipes 🙂
So the children played and the babies were cute and the adults chatted – it was good. Glorious weather, although with slightly surreal added foghorns from the beach. Haven’t got used to that yet – the sea is only a mile away, seems implausible that the weather could be that different so close by.
Small had a fabulous time, spinning ppl on the roundabout. Somehow I failed to suncream his arms adequately, so he has pink forearms now – bad mummy 🙁 Big wore her shrug, and when she took it off, suncreamed herself thoroughly, so her only injuries were roundabout and later vicious plant related. soa was kept in the shade, mainly by me sitting in odd positions with a wrap draped over my shoulders, so she was fine, although occasionally slightly cold 🙄
Then we headed home, just about in time to feed Big in time for her to digest before swimming club, then we popped off to swimming club and saw Helen and co again 🙂
Swimming club late on a Friday evening is a bit of a pain. But Big seems to be enjoying it, and I can think of worse ways to end a week, so we’ll persevere for now. Wonder whether soa will mind growing up in a leisure centre cafe area 😉
Oh, and the annoyance of the day is that I cannot work out how to reset the picture sizes on my camera. Somewhere along the line I set it to take pictures 640 x 480 which is great for the blog (and a large part of the reason you are getting so many pics atm) but I can’t work out how to set it back to normal size big pics for the detailed shots which I’d like to be able to blow up to fit in the lovely big frame that Tim bought us. 🙁 Grr. Even Em couldn’t suss it, and my netbook won’t network to the media centre to let me read the manual.
(Yes, I am one of those ppl who RTFM. Sorry. It’s just the way I am.)
And so to the picture. (It was going to be pictures, but I discovered all the images I have have other ppl’s children in them too 🙁 I’ve trimmed this one but the rest suffer rather from the trimming.
