More friends on a Saturday

Small had a friend over. It doesn’t happen very often – we just don’t seem to have met all that many families with just a friend for him. There are some with friends for both of them, lots with friends for Big that he tags along with, but very few ppl who come for him and she joins in.

So it was quite nice for R and his mum to come spend the afternoon. We planned a quiet afternoon, with watching of one of his birthday films, Iron Man. (He’s not watching the other one, The Incredible Hulk until I’ve prewatched it, as I’m not sure whether it might be a bit too scary.)

After they’d watched the film, they played with Small’s transformers and I don’t know quite what came over me, but I popped into the kitchen and quickly baked brownies. Sorry, I should have warned you all to sit down before I said that, shouldn’t I? Tim hasn’t stopped laughing at me yet. The brownies were good, good enough that I had to share the recipe, how’s that for a secondary shock?

There was a small transformer related incident when R accidentally pulled off a bit that wasn’t supposed to come off, but Small didn’t see, and R and mum stopped on the way home to buy a replacement one. Usually I would say it was just one of those things and not worry about replacing it, but R was quite determined and very worried about whether Small would still like him otherwise, and it was a very recent birthday present.

Other than that, I think we all enjoyed the day. Although oddly I don’t appear to have any pictures of it.
