I’ve really enjoyed celebrating my 10 year blogaversary over the last couple of weeks. I loved giving away a microwave – my winner was Vita and she appears to be suitably happy.
I’ve made a conscious decision not to put my competitions on any forums. I know I could boost my traffic by doing that, but I want my winners to be people who actually read the blog every once in a while, rather than just drive by hits. Just seems nicer that way somehow. So I do give out extra entries for sharing around, but it’s more of an organic growth hopefully.
I’ve got another fabulous competition now, hopefully to keep everyone happy. This time it’s for a £100 voucher to spend at Zalando, which was described to me as “a young, new e-commerce boutique with a diverse range of products”. Certainly the website looks very interesting – I keep going back to look at the cowboy boots 😉 Fashion, as you may be able to tell, isn’t really my thing. But I was impressed that when I signed up to the newsletter, I automatically got sent a £5 voucher, which I thought was friendly.
So, how shall we do this? I think I’d like you to tell me what is your favourite item of clothing. Stick it in a comment, and that’s your first entry. You can have extra entries for sharing this post (once a day, no more often thanks!) but you *must* leave an extra comment for each extra entry method or it won’t be counted. (I use And the winner is plugin, which makes a random drawing from comment entries.) The competition will run for 10 days, because it’s my 10th anniversary, which takes us up to midnight on 3rd June. Competition is open to UK only (sorry international readers, will try to have something for you soon!) and you must be prepared for me to pass your details to Zalando for prize fulfilment.
Disclosure: the prize will be supplied by Zalando, I have not been paid or otherwise recompensed for this post.

Having more of a belly than I’m used to, my favourite piece of clothing at the moment is the scarf. Those flimsy long ones that in an tie at the front and draw attention to it instead of me.
My favourite item of clothing I already own? Tough one…I change my mind every day, depending on my mood and whether I’m having a fat day. Regularly I love my green dress best – it’s not actually very flattering – but my husband LOVES it, and always compliments me when I wear it – and that makes me love it.
Over on Zalando, though, I’m with you on the cowboy boots – I’m eyeing up the embroidered ones. Cowboy boots with flowers? What’s not to love?!
My favourite item of clothing changes every few weeks. I’m shallow like that! At the moment it has to be a pair of blue denim jeans I picked up in Promod in Calais. They are super comfy and stretchy. Love them!
Ohhhh I think my fave item of clothing is one of my jumpers. It is threadbare, massively overwashed, and pre-dates my meeting Elder too. I have owned it for 15 years and it was second hand when I got it. It’s not even designer, its an 80s BHS v-neck mens jumper. But such is its overwashedness, its soft, snuggly and I guess its kind of the adult equivalent of a comfort blanket now!
I like it anyway! I wore it through my pregnancies as it was so baggy by then anyway!
It doesn’t get worn out now though, it’s strictly an indoors, slobbing on the sofa in my jama bottoms accompaniment jumper. But I doubt I’ll chuck it unless it actually falls a part now!
Baggy loose jeans. They are so comfortable and look great for casual wear. But comfort comes first!
I have a dress. The most gorgeous electric blue, v neck and v back, slinky. I always felt so fab wearing it. Of course I’ve not been able to get into it since having babies, but still it’s there, waiting! Urging me to get of my backside & shed the pounds. Then, I never go anywhere to wear it these days anyhow *tucks into another biscuit* hehe. I’d love to win this as I really need a new wardrobe & a new style since having baby no 2.
Ps. I’ve shared on twitter for you 🙂
I was just given a tie dyed vest for my birthday that was made in California by a guy who knows Jerry Garcia – love it!
I’m wearing a pair of socks from Zalando right now. They’re technically kids’ ski socks but I use them for hiking – they’re bright pink, with funky nordic star decorations, and really warm. They definitely rank among my favourites!
A pair of green boots that my mum gave me years ago (must be about 8 years old and she wore them before me). They’re on their last legs now and I despair of finding another pair I like as much!
Ive lost loads of weight in the last couple of years (just over 10 stone) so my wardrobe is a bit threadbare, however i do have an amazing leopard print dress that i wear a lot, can be dressed up or down, and i adore it. (am definately a ‘dress’ girl)
my cheeky shoes at the moment, soooooooo comfy!

Mine is a Calvin Klein dress that I got in a charity shop for £8. It’s black and white and is my go-to dress for work presentations as it makes me feel effortlessly smart, professional, capable and put-together. It’s also a (US) size 4, which doesn’t hurt my self-esteem!
I’m a massive fan of cardigans. They’re comfy, they hide lumps and bumps and you can pep up boring outfits with them, if you have a few colourful pieces in your wardrobe x

Happy 10 year blogaversary ! My favourite item of clothing is some black jeggings, so much more comfy than jeans and they go with any of my tops.
I’ve shared on twitter https://twitter.com/7hippopotamus/status/338314127120404480 as 7hippopotamus
At the moment it is an emerald green blouse with a rose collar and gorge beads. I love it with my black skinny jeans.

I haven’t bought from Zalando yet but having seen that they have plus sized clothing which actually looks like clothing rather than something you’d take camping I’m impressed!
If I was lucky enough to be the random winner I would choose feel-good pieces that cover the bits I want covering but actually look good too, so nice cut jeans and tops that are colourful, interesting and quite forgiving.
The first item on my wish list would be something like this:

My favourite item of clothing is my H&M blouse with the faces on it, I love it and wear it far too often, but it’s just so comfortable and flattering.
I’d have to say its a movie T-Shirt at present. While editing I try not to form attachments to specific things like songs, clothes, films, hoping this tactic of cold distance allows me to pick at my own work more than I would if I was happy.
Saying all that my ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’ T-Shirt goes on when I know I’m in for a hard day. It tends to be that I’m more focused with it on.
Great question by the way and congrats on your awesome milestone.

er – jeans and a school hoodie is what gets worn most at the moment 😉
Favourite item of clothing? trackies cos they’re comfortable and I only get to wear them when I don’t have to do anything important.
But I do like being on holiday in the sunshine and going out for dinner with the opportunity to wear something more like this :http://www.flickr.com/photos/tworedboots/7912164504/in/set-72157631381886706 !

My purple jeans. I love then and always get compliments when I wear them.
I have a charity shop near me which sells everything clothes wise for £1 so i get some bargains ! My favorite is a grey cardigan originally from marks and spencers , its long and goes down to my bum and is really comfy.
As ugly as they are, I love my UGG’s. They are so comfy!

My favourite clothing, hmmmm. At the moment it’s definitely printed jersey maxi dresses.
I just tweeted your tweet. Using mobile so can’t link to it sorry. @JulieMRB
My favourite piece of clothing VERY SADLY at the moment is my onesie!!! Sorry I know I shouldn’t admit it but it’s comfy and warm and loose so can curl up and be warm and snuggly!!!

Wow this is coincidence. I actually bought three sandals last week from Zalando. I wore one last weekend and it was super comfy. The two other sandals are kept for my upcoming tropical holiday. Super fast delivery and yes, the £5.00 discount was indeed lovely!. Now, I need to shop for a (or more) dress(es) for the party month (June) – with three birthdays etc AND my holiday, I need lots of ideas and vouchers, discount codes and everything else.
I am a jeans and knitted-top person, mostly, but my current favourite is a pale blue top that I sewed myself (albeit many minute flaws in it).

Nope, we haven’t forgotten – in fact we’re counting on it for holiday clothes. It’s ok to wear your birthday suit for holidays isn’t it *prepares self for not winning*
Done another twitter share 🙂
I do like shopping but have to admit that pyjamas are my favourite item of clothing. As soon as I know I’m in for the night (as in no more ferrying children around) I am in my pyjamas. X

My favorite piece of clothing is a thin blouse with cute bird print, it fits well, looks nice and best of all my children and husband all like it!
I think my favourite piece of clothing is a flannel shirt which my wife bought me for Christmas a couple of years ago.
It’s pretty much my winter uniform, I hate having to give it up to the washing pile. WIsh I could find another one, but the company have stopped making them now. Curse the whims of fashion!
Thank you for the introduction to Zalando; I’d never heard of them before.
Not sure if you mean favourite piece of clothing I own – blue cardigan, love it. Or favourite piece from the Zalando website – either a dress as I’m going to a wedding soon or a pair of ankle boots, they’ve go so many to choose from!

My husband hates them but I love my leggings! They’re comfortable, I can crawl around the floor with the kids etc or I can dress them up with a posh top! I can wear baggy tops to hide all my flab and they’re easily washable and dry quickly. Love them 🙂

I love Zalando and would just choose something from my wishlist on there – a new dress or the Andy Warhol scarf for starters 🙂

My favourite item is a scarf bought years ago – has embroidered flowers and birds on it. Smart enough for work, warm enough to cope with chilly mornings and big enough to be an emergency blanket for small people
Shared on twitter.
This dress is so pretty! I could see myself in it on a sunny day 🙂

My favourite item of clothing is the pair of jeans I’m currently wearing. They’re Next ‘Boyfriend’ jeans but I got them for £3 in Break charity shop. Not only am I supporting a great local charity but I get awesome cheap jeans too!
My favourite item of clothing ever has got to be my PVC black trousers. I of course don’t wear them now, they were size 6 and when I was 17 I looked amazing in them. Probably the most amazing I will ever look! I wore them so much that the zip tab broke and I had to take a safety pin out with me to hoik it up. These days and my fave clothes are those of the childrens, I like a few bits of my own but they’re mainly from the supermarket and at least one size larger than would be ideal so i’ll keep my fave as the pvc trousers from my youth!
I have a big sloppy cotton cardigan – can’t wear wool. It’s cream so it goes with most things.
I am just about to tweet your competition, hope this comment saying so is enough for my second entry, please let me know if i’m to do anything else. 🙂

My closet is a bit of a wasteland at the minute, but I have a Phase 8 dress I bought for a wedding last year that I love. Just wish I had more opportunity to wear it!
My favourite item of clothing are dresses, I just love how you can wear different dresses according to the season, with different shoes – flats, heels and boots!
