for number bonds up to 10 – cast on 10 knitting stitches. Allow child to knit. Have her check frequently whether she still has the requisite number of stitches. Results in much adding up of the stitches on each needle and occasional panic when the answer *isn’t* 10…

that’s a good idea. But I dont seem to be able to teach a child to knit 😉
don’t seem to be able to stop Big!
I thought she was a bit young when she wanted to learn, but we had a bash, and she picked it up straight away, very impressive. 🙂
I’m with you rosie – i’d be happy to send Fran to my worst enemy for a week if it got me out of repeated knitting arguments… lol…
