the cavalry round here is definitely on the ball!
We had the nursery nurse round last week, and she’s coming on Friday to play games with Small.
This morning we had the speech therapist, who was also very lovely, of the opinion that we are doing the right things by introducing some signing and considering PECS, not at all dismissive of my concerns, but also not panicked by him. Several times made comments along the lines of “the research shows, as you know” and has made three appts in the next month to come back to work with Small some more.
So, I was doing everything right, pretty much, although we’ve been given some hints and tips on talking to him in ways to encourage his self expression ;), I can go on signing, and it’s time to make a photo board. Which reminds me, haven’t stuck that stuff in the post to you yet Karen, will do so tomorrow!
Oh, and she’s encountered home education previously, thinks its a wonderful idea, and was very interested in how it works for us. 🙂
Right, lunch time, then off to celebrate a birthday!
