well, maybe 43 😉
Small was again up and at it with a smile. Big was again struggling with tights. I’d consider trousers, but that would lead to sock issues, as apparently socks don’t feel good with her boots (and she doesn’t have any other shoes, except doodles, and she can’t (read absolutely will not) wear those if it’s wet)). Not that it’s going to be a problem tomorrow, as somehow she contrived to leave her boots at school today 🙁 I ask you – how does ‘put your coat and shoes on’ translate to ‘grab a jumper, make mummy grab your coat and hat, and forget your outdoor shoes entirely?’ I suppose I should have checked, but I’ve not had to before!
For those who haven’t kept up with the comment thread 😉 we do do breakfast in the car, it’s just that Big was taking so long, Small tucked into his inside!
Anyway, another day at work, another day at school. Small seemed happy, Big was less than impressed with a lad who was just there for the holiday club, but he won’t be there next week, so it won’t be a problem again. The roads were lovely and quiet again, so we made it home in under 50 minutes, and the children were in bed asleep by just after 7. I’m hopeful that I will follow them soon, but aargh…I needed to put some washing on, I’ve the kitchen and this table to clear, and I want to have some decent food tonight. Oh, and I need to set up a box of stuff for Big to have a go at if she wants to tomorrow 😉

Tights are tricky here. Fran has really only just got to the point where she can do then and i had to explain the “two lines to the back, one to the front” thing again the other day. I can see her point, she doesn’t have a bigger bum at the back than at the front, so the logic wasn’t obvious!!!!!! 😉
Maddy can do it, but then she is such a stickler for rules that everything has to be just so. She also has issues over things feeling right, so she has to get it right for herself.
It is probably only a few months since i was doing the wrinkle it up short for them thing though – i refuse to let them have dancing tights because neither of them can cope with tights under pressure!
Maybe I’m expecting a bit much then – Big does her own tights and has for ages. Think she’s only got one pair with the two lines thing though 😉
The problem isn’t with putting them on, she’s got the mechanics of it down pat. The problem is that they are all either too big (and thus wrinkle) or too small (and thus fall down). Add in the knickers that she got for christmas (which are apparently too big, although they look pretty much perfect to me) and you have an excellent recipe for complete disaster. We’re going tight shopping this weekend.
Go look in the John Lewis sale – they had dark red and spotty blue that are gorgeous and a lovely fit.
What about the ones on theat site Katy linked to – they looked scrummy too.
Not going to be able to get anywhere near John Lewis, nearest one is centre of Sheffield I think 🙁 What site was that?
