You know you're a mum when

you get home from a long drive after a few days away, and rush to put the kettle on…

…so you can make pasta for the kids.

(You know you’re a domestic goddess when you grab a home made sauce out of the freezer made with your own tomatoes. Ah well, maybe next year. Here they got ketchup and grated cheese 😉 )

And you know you’re a blogger when you start blogging before you have breakfast. I suppose I’d be a die hard blogger if I’d blogged last night, but honestly, I was so tired, it was all I could do to string tweets together. Blog posts need more than 140 characters really.

It was a lovely few days away. Although the stress involved in packing to go and come back is hugely disproportionate to the time actually away – must go and hang the washing out, I got it into the machine last night, but not out onto the line.

Great to catch up with a few ppl, though again I didn’t manage to identify enough ppl in person to actually speak to. There are definite drawbacks to being shyer irl than you are online. Enjoyed my panto moment with @daddacool (you’d have thought me might have clicked that the person sitting behind a netbook *might* have been on twitter 😉 ) and great to discover that the blog writer of the year, @dotterel was home educated for a while (even if he’s a teacher now 😉 )

And now, as it’s our notbacktoschool picnic today and I’m not showered or dressed yet (although I have been for a run, no I don’t count running clothes as dressed!) I’d better get a move on.

  1. And you know you’re a mother when the 10 minutes it takes to cook said pasta seems to take an eternity of whinging and moaning of the ‘how much looooooooonger?’ variety! Glad you had a lovely time. Thought of you today when I saw someone driving in front of me with a HESFES sticker on their car. Happy new not-term!

    1. thanks Jen. I have to say it doesn’t feel like I’ve only just met you tbh, feels like I’ve known you for ages. Great to meet the rest of the family too 🙂
