yoga, dentist and bikinis.

Found it really difficult to get going yesterday. The baby is changing her sleep patterns and I haven’t worked out how to work around the new times yet. I think it’s related to her starting on solids, not that she’s been eating all that much yet. So I laid in a bit, and then eventually got going and there was quite a bit of work done before we made it to baby yoga by the skin of my teeth, without Small for once.

Turned out it was a shame he hadn’t come along as there was only one other mother and babe there, so there was plenty of room for him. Oh well, meant that it was much more of a mummy sesh, which is not a bad thing. I need to up my exercise levels in order to lose that baby weight!

So we had a good session, then I had to dash as we all had dentist appts afterwards. Excellent dashing, we arrived early *and* managed to park in one of the few parking bays outside, *and* then the dentist saw us early! Definite result. Got even better – the only one who needed any treatment was Tim with a small filling and it was done there and then. Got another suggestion we should get Small using adult toothpaste, but that’s difficult given he hates mint. We’ve tried a variety of flavours (I rather liked the fennel, which is just as well, as he hated it even more than the mint!) but haven’t found anything acceptable yet. Hm.

On the way back we popped into the Range, and picked up a calligraphy set for the kids to have a try of. I do love that shop. Probably just as well it isn’t particularly accessible as I feel I could end up spending a lot of time and money there. As it was a thermos flask fell into our basket as well, along with some Sky Lanterns 😉

Somewhere along the line we managed to get Grandad’s cards in the post – although Small didn’t tell us until after they were in the post that he hadn’t written anything in his. Sigh. Am sure Grandad will have been pleased with the card anyway.

And that’s all I can remember. Must stop leaving posts in draft for weeks and not filling them in. I will be cross in the future when I find holes in the blog!

Ah, have also remembered the bikini saga.

Big goes swimming with friends on a Monday. Apparently all the girls wear bikinis. She has a rather sedate racing back swimming costume, and wanted something a bit flashier. So we went looking for bikinis.

Bought one, took it home. She tried it on, and decided, eventually, that she didn’t like it. So the next day we took it back and found her a swimming costume instead. She is happy that she has something prettier, and I’m happy that she hasn’t succumbed to peer pressure to wear something she doesn’t feel comfortable in. A good compromise I think and also a good lesson to learn 🙂
