‘What’s an outfox, mummy?’
‘I have no idea – what are you talking about?’
‘Swiper outfoxed Dora – so what’s an outfox?’
Light dawns…
It’s been a Dora fiesta today, and Big still went up to bed in tears because she couldn’t watch yet another episode. Sigh. I did washing, more washing, some shopping, some more shopping and other bits of housework in a very reluctant fashion, given that I had a very bad night with Small. In fact, I accidentally fell asleep when the two of them headed off downstairs this morning, and was woken extremely abruptly when Big came running in in a panic to tell me that Small had taken his own nappy off in the living room.
Turned out that wasn’t too disastrous, as it was only wet, and she was in the process of getting their breakfast as well, so that was good. (Can I put this post in practical skills as well then? 😉 ) I did manage to drag them both outside briefly while I was hanging out washing, and at one point when Big was throwing herself round the room I told her to go out and run round the garden 5 times. She wasn’t very happy with me (stomped out shouting) but then I could hear her counting, and she came back in panting and smiling.
‘Mummy?’
‘Yes?’
‘That was fun. Can I do it again?’
She can be an odd child at times…

Oh yes, Dora fiesta day….*sings* “D-d-d-d-dora!!!!!!!!”
We love it….. (no really, we do!)
1. who is Dora?
2. Spoke too soon about TV, trying to wean Lani off another 4 watchings of Oliver Twist today … and did provide exciting alternatives! (trust is difficult sometimes … suspect she’s watching for the songs alone now … thinking of buying the CD!)
3. Nappy shedding, going back to sleep, scary awakenings … all very familiar! Many wet patches around our house previously! I remember Becs decending upon my head with a very pooy nappy whilst holding onto the headboard and jumping up and down. Now that is a wierd and stinky way to awaken! I also remember once being awoken about 7am, by Becs (at the age of about 2) showing me her painting! Now that is double scary! (arrrrrggghhhh!) In fact she had managed to make no mess at all (thank goodness as it was a rented house and she’d found the big bottles of ready mixed paint!)
Lani just likes to wrap up on the sofa and watch tv. Thankfully, she tends to get mesmerised into staying still by the blankie (because her temperament is more naturally anarchic and horribly creative!)
4. see requested homeopathy link on my blog (achieved both pictures and links in posts today … tho some gremlins as you’ll probably notice. Sometimes seem to loose my sidebar to bottom of page … tho other times it stays where it should. Post Link is a bit strange but “being creative” with where I paste in the html, just like it told me to be!)
