Not our best day of the week.
Not quite sure what went on, but do know it ended with Big gaining herself computer and tv ban for the following day, due to attitudinal issues.
She recovered it slightly in the evening, and did some handwriting practise – I don’t know how she achieved it, but she got through three years of Montessori without learning how to form her letters. This means that her writing is untidy (not unusual in this family or for 9 year old girls generally) and also very slow (which gives problems whenever she wants to write anything, and puts her off writing generally).
Small of course also got through three years of Montessori without learning how to form his letters, but then again, I’ve yet to figure out precisely what he did get out of three years there. He is fairly, um, independent, in his learning style, and I suspect pretty much everything he has picked up he would have done regardless of the environment around him.
After handwriting practise, and some music appreciation in the form of listening to Meatloaf (I love my little boy, he’s a Bat out of Hell fan 🙂 ) Tim read to them. And discussed the fact that they would need to tidy their room the following day.
And that is pretty much all I can remember of Monday. Hm. Must try harder.
