vax and internet shortage.

Did the vax thing. This involved a very brisk walk to the doctors after soa decided to fill her nappy just as we were about to leave the house. Oh, and a tantrum on my part when Small refused to get himself organised despite a countdown to leaving time. Not one of my best moments 🙁

Fairly sure the mainly elderly occupants of the waiting room were slightly bemused by my DS wielding offspring. Small had been worried about the vax though so I figured it was good to have something to distract him. The nurse was lovely too – I’m sure one day we will meet someone here who reacts in a stereotypical way to the news we home educate (and thinking about it one of the gps did, but he doesn’t count because he’s foreign (really from a different country, not just not from round here)) but it wasn’t going to be her. She was polite and seemed interested even after Small started explaining how we do it. She nearly blew my cover by explaining school holidays though – he was quite displeased to discover he had done English while school children were having a break! 😆

Soa was very brave and only cried at the second jab. She settled fairly quickly when offered a breast and once back in the wrap went off to sleep.

Bit of a wander round town and then home in the biting cold wind. Stopped off to see if D & S in – they weren’t. As became obvious at the next road we crossed when they passed us in the car 😉 Shame, as it seems a little while since we’ve dropped in.

Evening, can’t really remember the evening. Oh yes I can. When we got home, the router wasn’t working. It continued to not work. I spent an evening without the internet! Kept thinking of things I could do, then realising that they were online and I couldn’t 🙁 My other preferences of crochet and reading are difficult atm, can’t crochet with a baby lying on one arm, and find reading similarly challenging due to complete lack of brain. Hm.

Tim arrived back around 9.30 and rescued us a couple of hours later 🙂

And today, after a very difficult night, has been quiet. Big’s brownie friend’s mum rang up and offered her a playdate – so she was out all afternoon. Small was initially a little sad she was going as they were playing, but he consoled himself with a computer, and reverted to self entertaining. It was a very peaceful afternoon. Felt slightly guilty for enjoying it 🙁

Redeemed myself by cooking camp curry a la beans, and all the family enjoyed it. (Tim even had seconds. I did have to consult with him on the flavouring, as shortly before serving it really was a bit flavourless. He rescued it well with the addition of red wine, Hendersons, salt and hot curry powder, 1 spoon.)

TV evening, and now soa has fallen asleep of her own accord in her cot. (Well, obviously she didn’t get there of her own accord, I put her there. And it’s still a bedside cot and I will be going to bed just now, so she’s hardly abandoned. Still feels a bit weird though.)

g’night all.
