this is getting boring now

Up at 6.20 to change poor Small’s bed and clothing as he’d been rather ill. Bathed him and so on, and then he did it all again 🙁 Poor child. At some point during this, dd got up and tootled downstairs to her beloved tv – came down and gave her breakfast while setting the first of many loads of washing going, then retired back to bed at 8am.

Slept till nearly 12! Can’t get over how this is wiping both me and Small out – but thankful for small mercies that so far dd has escaped it.

After lunch made a gargantuan effort with minimal energy and dd and I read 6 of her new beginner reader books together. Not sure to what extent she is reading as she doesn’t appear to look at the words at all, but at least we tried. Then we spent an hour in the garden planting peas and beans – hopefully just in time for them to grow this summer.

We’ve just come back in for a snack and dd has lost it completely and gone off to her room (well, let’s face it, I practically dragged her there) and I’m wondering what to do next – would be embarrassing to go back to bed, wouldn’t it?
