Think this might be of interest to some of you?

QXL : Books, Childrens, Audio, Harry Potter Audio Books *ALL 5 STORIES*

Searching for alternative to Ebay (read previous posts on irritation with Ebay and paypal to find out why) to use for decluttering purposes, I’ve come across Ebid and QXL so far. Think they might be rather better for buyers than for sellers atm, but that could change.

QXL is building up to a free listing week – if you join beforehand, anything listed that week (commencing July 31st I think) is free. Please quote my userid onemumcat if you do join, and note that you’ve got to wait at least two business days after registration to sell anything as they send you something through the post? Don’t miss out registering to sell or you don’t get the activation code!

  1. Those CDs are files easily downloaded via WinMx or something and then burnt to a CD. Total value 20p and illegal!!!

  2. Singing…
Stick a pony in me pocket.
I’ll fetch the suitcase from the van.
Cos if you want the best ‘uns,
    But you don’t ask questions,
    Then brother, I’m your man.
    Where it all comes from
    Is a mystery……..

  3. Hm.
I’m daft, aren’t I? Didn’t occur to me they were rip offs. Still, gives me another chance to try out the QXL customer service…and yes, I did report them.

  4. They’ve got nothing like eBay’s volume, but Yahoo! Auctions is still the #2 auctions site, I believe. At least in the U.S.

  5. Thanks for popping by Ron, wasn’t aware that yahoo did auctions (or maybe they don’t in the uk) I’ll check it out.

  6. If you have an actual real life auction house nearby, it could be worth trying instead of online auctions, especially for the heavier stuff. It is a lot easier than I thought. (Then, I am biased at the mo, having got £20 for a pair of rollerboots!)
