The Body Count Mounts

Crunch, squeak, crunch, squeak, crunch, gulp, gulp. Mouse No 7 is no more, all gone. I think we may be nearing the end of them. Claude always comes in looking hopeful now, I think he is convinced that we have arranged a kind of Easter Egg hunt for him.

Edited 12th September, 7.20am. No 8 was in the trap this morning.

  1. When I had mice in my little cottage near Cheltenham, I caught 27….. you may have a while to go yet.

  2. My cats seem to be bringing in rats at the moment. Nice. Especially at 3am when they are bleeding all over your white duvet cover.

  3. Yup, we gave up at 16 (humane trap) in Herefordshire because we were moving.

  4. I think we may have got lucky and forestalled them before they had got a real colony going. It looks like there were a pair of adults, one of whom reimmigrated after its deportation and a litter of mouselets (what is the correct word for baby mice?). We got the parents first and since then we have only caught babies. Fingers crossed.
