Thanks to Kirsty

for a lovely party this afternoon. I’m sure she’ll blog it at some point. Four families there, and I don’t think there were any fallouts at all? Or certainly only minor ones, easily sorted. Loads of fun, plenty of food, tea on tap and good company, this is home ed at its best – well it was certainly the socialisation we keep getting told our children will miss!

We were late there as it took well over an hour for dd to make the birthday card. She is a complete perfectionist, and gets terribly worked up when things don’t go quite how she wants them to, unfortunately it’s often difficult to work out what it was she wanted in the first place. And after an hour of trying to help out while being screamed at, I tend to get a bit zoned out as well. But the card was very graciously accepted, as was the present, so the trauma was quickly forgotten.

We missed a visit from Grandma while we were out, dropping off a congratulations present for her ballet result. It’s an Objet D’art bronze ballerina, and is so well liked that it had to go to watch her in the bath, and apparently nobody else is allowed to touch it, although Barbara‘s E is going to be allowed to look at it. Quite surprised that Jan‘s C didn’t get a mention, don’t think that they fell out this afternoon?

Small had a lovely party pretty much just getting on with his own stuff – he is very easy to look after when he’s in that kind of mood. He has eaten constantly all day today – wonder if we’re in for a growth spurt? I’m also wondering whether an afternoon watching Sarah‘s M wandering about is going to encourage his walking, although watching him watch TOTP2 this evening, it seems possible that he will dance before he walks. I’m sure he was clapping along in time with several of the songs this evening, with Madness getting the best reaction.

Right, I’m avoiding the financial plotting that I need to do, so I’d better clear off and get on with it. Might be back later, I’ve been doing a bit of pondering on a number of issues that I’d like to blog about.
