So which one do you like?

Can’t be bothered to go and find a poll plugin, you’ll just have to leave me a comment

Note, that this is to be a pressie for a little girl – gonna do the 6 month size so that it’s to be grown into, and I was thinking I would do it in beige cotton (mainly because I’ve already got some of that about 😉 )

So, number one:

hoodie no 1

and number two:

hoodie no 2

I did find an online shop with Debbie Bliss cotton silk on sale, but I’m trying to resist…

  1. Not the hoody. She will be barred from shopping centres. 🙂

  2. The little one is a jumper with a hoody, yes? Hard to quite tell. So I’d go for the hooded cardi, to avoid the getting the hood over a small baby’s head bit.
My auntie made Violet a hoodie when she was a toddler, but it had a zip up the *back*, all the way up to the top of the hood/head. It was pink and gloriously retro. So if you see one like that anywhere … make it, or let me know 😉

  3. Think I meant hood not hoody in my first sentence. Or is not with, or something. I didn’t think I was tired, but may be I am ..

  4. Hm, can’t work out how to get a better piccie out of the pdf – the little one is a cardi as well. So given that?
Will keep an eye out for a back zippered hoodie…sounds intriguing. 🙂

  5. first one is great

  6. Hmmm, then perhaps the second one, if it is to be worn in the winter, because it looks like the hood will stay up better. Also it’s got some pattern on it, which is nice if the yarn is a plain colour.

  7. Well Alison sounds ever so pratical 🙂 But I just think the colour of the first one looks great, so find it hard to be focussed her. Beige does sound well, rather boring though……..

  8. I like the second one. I think the hood will frame a tiny face nicely. It looks like it will stay on better – thereby serving the purpose of a hood – to keep head and ears warm.
Beige is always nice because it goes with anything. It is also gender neutral so it can be passed from one child to the next. I recieved some beautiful hand knit sweaters for Number 1 which I saved for grandchildren. I can’t use them for Number 2 because – they are all pink. (And I’ll only go so far on the relaxed gender training idea.) So – let’s hope I have girl grandchildren or they’ll sit out another entire generation.
I always treat hand made gifts – such as sweaters – as the future heirlooms that they are. I’m always so deeply touched someone took time, energy and creativity on my behalf. Your friend is so lucky to have you planning such a lovely, practical gift and keepsake.

  9. I like ths first one better

  10. First one! Try and do it in coloured as it is so cool. My mum made Pea a cardi and a floppy hat when she was about 3 months old of the most amazing multi coloured wool, it was brilliant.

  11. tough choice… I prefer plain stuff for littlies – loopy patterns fill me with a total fear of teeny tiny fingers getting taqngled so that would make the first one more appealing but I agree with Christina, if the idea of the hood is to keep little ears warm then the shape of the second one looks much more snug. No help am I….

  12. I do like the simple shape of the first one. I cant tell how floppy the hood on it is, but if you want a snug hood maybe you could do the first one with the hood of the second one 😉
