Saturday snippets 6 September 2014

{watching} Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Big hit with all the family except Tim, who really has seen it all before. Though even he wants a set of Falcon wings for Christmas. And who wouldn’t? With a body count rather higher than an Arnie film, I was quite pleased the little ones were playing Reading Eggs instead. I did like the action scenes though, Cap is excellent with that shield.

{running} built my distance up to a mile – fourth run since I started up again. Did it in around 10 m 30, which is a fairly respectable pace. A good starting point for my long term goal of a 10k in under 60 minutes anyway.

{eating} a rather good roast pork. Quite impressed with myself – I managed to coordinate the timings so that all we had to do was lay the table and all the food was ready to sit down to after the film.

{reading} Queen of the Tearling. Which is excellent. I’ve no idea why I put it down (probably because I went to Kentwell or something.)

{learning} how to draw an oval using pieces of string. Did you know that a full circle cloak is actually made out of an oval? Well, you do now. Learn something new everything day 😉

{folding} the first of 1000 cranes. Part of my 101 in 1001 list. Still looking for ideas for it.

Snapshots.

Big has started working on her drawing, and has produced some fab stuff already. Turns out she’s really rather good at this stuff. Small stunned me last night with a long conversation about misconceptions about the human brain, explaining the myth of the 10%. Smallest has had a great week working through her Poppy Cat magazine – cinnamon hearts tomorrow I think. Tigerboy has just been too adorable for words with all his words. And he’s heading towards potty training, I don’t think I’ll regret the last nappy change, whenever it finally happens.

Me.

I’ve started a 101 in 1001 list. It’s quite challenging thinking of enough things to go on it to be honest. I seem to have forgotten how to have small dreams, and large ones feel rather intimidating. But if you don’t try, you don’t have any chance to succeed.

Fancy linking up your snippets? Doesn’t have to be Saturday, doesn’t have to be exactly these prompts. Just let us know about your day/ week.
