Saturday snippets 3 August 2013

{waking} early to a beautiful day. And wishing I was in a tent instead of a bedroom.

{enjoying} an afternoon with extended family. Good food, good company, good weather.

{receiving} an embarrassment of riches in the form of five parcels of books. Mainly prizes – 1 for review. (23 books!) Particular thanks to Mumsnet bookclub for the twitter win of the entire CKG13 shortlist.

{exploring} picture books with happy children.

{watching} The invention of lying. Clever idea, rest of family very much enjoyed it, still felt like a vehicle for Ricky Gervais (yes, yes, I know he wrote it) which could have been much more than it was. Raised lots of questions that I’m sure we’ll keep coming back to.

{counting} steps. Fitbug is keeping me much more active now that I’ve got it all set up and logging with the website. That’s got to be good for me, right?

Again Emily Gravett

{snapshots} Big has spent the last couple of days working on tech posts for the relaunch of her tech site (look out world), Small will be taking his silver award in swimming in a week’s time. Smallest did the most wonderful drawing of Wibbly Pig for a competition entry (was slightly annoyed to then realise it was a voting comp, I don’t do those!), and Tigerboy is just full of achievements. I think my favourite is the reading – he roars at dragons and mows at cat pictures 🙂 🙂
