Saturday snippets 16th February 2013

{Watching} Johnny English Reborn for family film night. Surprisingly enjoyable all round, though with some truly cringe worthy moments. A very successful choice.

{Reading} the House Rabbit which arrived this morning from David Fickling Books. Love the illustrations and the repetition which allows Smallest to join in. Can see this becoming a firm bedtime favourite.

{Eating} chicken and rice. Goes down well with everybody.

{Throwing out} third of 40 bags in 40 days. They don’t all have to be thrown out, but dealt with. Tomorrow the living room table!

{Pondering} human interactions and wondering why, after 42 years I still feel so incompetent. I can always identify the in crowd, it’s the group I’m not in. Sigh.

{Starting} a new site for educational resources, reviews and stuff. There will be a commercial aspect.

{Snapshots} Big has had a good reading week, polishing off four books. Small has started running, and done his first g+ profile image. Smallest has done some really beautiful and imaginative art work and Tigerboy can oh so nearly walk now, just doesn’t seem to realise he could let go of a hand.

I’m not actually in that much of a hurry for him to let go. I am trying ever so hard to come to terms with last baby nearly not being a baby any more but it’s difficult.

  1. The last baby growing up – that is difficult.

    1. Not just me then?

  2. I totally know what you mean about not being in the ‘in crowd’, I’m never one of them either but I figure we’re way cooler anyway!

    1. I’d like to think that but right at the moment my self confidence isn’t up to it.

  3. Incompetent is the last word I’d associate with you. You might need some storage solutions that work better though – LOL, I cannot believe you are still decluttering. I swear, if I lived near you I’d come round and declutter you myself (and let you educate my daughter while I’m there).

    1. The problem is that stuff comes in faster than it’s going out and I’m almost constitutionally incapable of saying no.

      1. I also get a load of hand-me-downs of clothes, books, games, etc as all my friends have older children. And a couple of wealthy friends indulge in retail therapy so they give their not so old clothes to me too. I am ruthless though. We go through it immediately. Put away what I want to keep and divvy the rest into give-away and throw away. Throw away is easy as there are poor people who take anything left hanging on the dustbins. Give away goes in a storage box but I regularly make deliveries. You have be ruthless. Even so DD has a wardrobe full of clothes that will possible be suitable over the next five years.

        1. Multiply that up by four kids and you begin to see where I’m going wrong. Ruthless is not a characteristic I possess.
