disclosure: links to places you can buy stuff are probably affiliate links, unless I’ve been unable to sign up with the seller. I make pennies. It costs you nothing.

{not reading} lots of books. I currently have on the go On Writing by A.L.Kennedy (amazon affiliate link, as all amazon links are, The Earth Path by Starhawk (amazon) and something I’ve forgotten about on the kindle. (Going particularly well that one.)

{doodling} daily for illo_advent, in the free month of Draw Every Day, Draw Every Way. See sidebar for link. It’s an excellent book, and if you’re looking to get into a creative habit, I really can’t recommend it highly enough.

{writing} Here! This is 4 days running. I think I’ve found my blogging muscles again 🙂 Helps in a way that hardly anyone is reading, except probably future me, and maybe some of the children. Hello children!

{hurting} Should pain break through naproxen? I’ve been doing my physio exercises, and waiting for the appt email. And then today I went back to look at the exercise email again, and saw a paragraph at the top that I just hadn’t seen previously, and it says to ring them after last Weds to book an appt. So that’s nice. I can’t explain why I didn’t see it, except that the next bit down is in a bigger and italic font, and I think I just kind of skipped the first paragraph as if it were a disclosure thing? Gah, anyway. So I’ve waited three extra days to make the appt, or will have by the time I get round to it on Monday. I don’t know if these systems are more efficient money wise – they are NOT more efficient from my point of view, not least as all these phone calls cause extra stress. I hate making phone calls. I put off ringing the doctor for days because of the phone calls.

{painting} been experimenting with the lovely things in that Cass Art parcel I mentioned. Not quite ready for the big reveal, but have an abstract blob thing to keep you going. Colour looks much better in real life, I need to work out how to take photos of this stuff!

{updates} so Big sent in her provisional driving license application today, and I am so not ready for this next step of parenting. She has a job as well as A levels in progress and is very much looking forward to a couple of weeks off at Christmas.

Small is learning Japanese – ordered himself the new Pokemon game with the voucher he won from the Skills show, and requested a Japanese dictionary (Amazon) so that he could play through in Japanese, as you do. Or as he does, anyway. Went out with his fencing club for a Christmas social last week, and is pottering along fairly happily.

Smallest has her own proper painting set and journal and paints and journals and is writing and nearly reading and nearly ready to move up at swim club.

Tigerboy is utterly obsessed with Kirby. And Super Smash Bros. And all things WiiU. This too will pass, right?

And me. I have not done much writing other than this here blogging, but at least I’m blogging. And painting. And thinking about reading. And doing my exercises.

Found this rather lovely pic of me and my girls on the phone the other day. Sorry for the dire quality – but thought it was worth sharing anyway 🙂

Beautiful picture of you and your girls. So happy to read your blogs again 🙂 I do the same thing with reading, also skip chapter names. Often skip first paragraphs for probably the same reason, especially if they’re written in bold!
