to blog about these things tomorrow.
Small and birds, cats, dogs and ppl.
Small likes animals. He quite likes ppl, but he is squealingly happy to see animals. We walked to the post office on Weds (posted the Hesfes form, yippee!) and every few steps he would stop, smiling, to point at a cat, or a bird, or wave to a person. Today when we got back from the library the old guy with his dog was just arriving at the bottom of our drive – used to see him when I was taking Big to nursery and going to work, now we see him during the day. He stops and leans on our fence to have a breather – so we walked down to see him, and Small got to make friends with his dog. This was good.
Oh, and I forgot that he seems to have a couple of new words – the names of SB and BB 😉
Disposable nappies.
Yeuch. Weds I hadn’t quite got my act together to get the nappies washed, so Small finished out the day in a dispie. Which meant I also had to wash the rug, after a somewhat catastrophic leak. Wasn’t as bad as it could have been, turned out that the toy dog has a lovely brown floppy tail after all…
Little toe radio.
Have tried Big on this one day this week, and after the customary yelling from both of them that the tv was broken, Small got on with something else (probably colouring on something he shouldn’t be 🙁 ) but Big did listen, to the extent that she came and told me that Mrs Frisby is a sad story. So we’ll have to try that again – maybe try to catch the beginning of some stories though 😉
Pizza fractions.
Quick and easy tea after ballet – pizza. Chopped it into quarters, Big started with 1 1/2 pizzas, so lots of mathematical conversation there, all started by her! Result.
Website design.
Pondering on ways to get Big involved. I’m wondering whether I can set her up with colours on bits of paper and have her move them around to get layouts, whether she could draw piccies we could scan for graphics – I don’t really fancy sitting for a couple of hours fighting Small off while we try to do it online…must think more. Anyone want to be our first experiment? 😉
Business, set, freight forwarders.
Grr. Been trying to organise to buy Set wholesale rather than do a cooperative order – seems to me that I could still do ppl a coop level price, but make a little bit back myself (and anyone who isn’t comfortable with that scream now and I’ll bear it in mind) and it’s doing my head in! How difficult can it be to import stuff? Apparently I need a freight forwarder, but finding one is like drawing blood. And the company would really like me to order a $1000 worth at a time, hm, might have another storage problem then….
On the upside, I’ve bought a bar code scanner tonight (well, two actually 😉 ) so I might get somewhere with the book database setting up very soon…

Oooh, scanner 🙂
Lulah likes animals too … bit distracting trying to watch King Arthur with her shouting “horsey!” “horsey walking!” “horsey running!!” all the time … still scared of dogs though, that’s 3 out of 4 now.
Oh well, slightly better than running away screaming from a rabbit like Ammi does.
Jax, don’t you DARE buy $1000 of Set!
thats a bugger for you, since you have 2 rabbits
