Poor neglected blog.

Again.

It’s been a whirlwind week, which is prob why I haven’t found time to blog, so I’m not going to cover day by day.

Tuesday was Forest school, which was excellent again. The rain threatened, but didn’t interfere until after we’d done, so I again sat and smoked myself next to the fire as various ppl singed or cooked various foods. The fire is definitely the biggest draw, so next time we’re going to have an even bigger fire pit, with room for frying pans, and Anna, forest school leader is going to bring mixed pancake stuff, and hot chocolate, and we can have a really good meal.

Some ppl brought bread dough and cooked it wrapped round sticks, might try that next time. Not that I actually get much cooking time of my own, but worth a go 🙂

After the session, Small went off into the woods around the picnic area to play, and a little while later two similar sized/ aged girls to him went in and joined in. A few minutes after that there was screaming 🙁 He’d thumped one of the girls in the mouth, as she wouldn’t let go of him and was scratching his head. Obviously she missed that bit out in her report of the happenings to her mother 🙁 Her mother took the whole thing well, and we monitored them more closely after that, but overall it went OK. This is new though – usually other children leave him alone to do his own thing, and as he doesn’t seem to know how to mix into a group, we don’t get this kind of issue with strangers. (With friends and relatives, well, that’s a different matter.)

Also on Tuesday, my midwife didn’t want to see me (think the conversations about this were probably Monday, and took ages to complete via constantly disconnecting mobile phones) due to the sflu in the building. Oh well. And we missed swimming as it clashed with Forest School.

So that’s the week started off.
