I spent Weds/ Thurs in London, being a java expert. Bit of a blast from the past, but enjoyable. Which reminds me about the hour spent in Mothercare on Tues, ostensibly to get me some office standard maternity wear, but I also found Doodle crocs down at £6. And then spent 40 minutes trying to work out whether Big wanted them (did they fit, did she like them, would they be OK to wear and on and round in circles and so forth. Bleargh).

Tim and the kids ran me to bigger local town in the morning – there are lots of trains from there, but only one an hour that connects through to here. The journey was straightforward, as was the tube, and as it was after 9.30 by the time I got to London, reasonably peaceful too. Made my way to the office and spent two days in code reviews and discussing testing procedures. Like walking back in time 🙂

The hotel in between the two days is best left unmentioned, except to say that if you are ever considering the Ascot Hyde Park hotel, don’t. 🙁

Thurs worked out to be a long day, tube and two trains to home, and I was tired by the time I got back, just after lights out for the offspring. But I could do that every now and then, especially for good contract money 🙂

Tim and the kids had been out and about a little, bought a replacement tent pole and bumped into a non home educating but known via home ed group friend C at Needham Lake. Not quite sure what else they’d been up to, but they seemed quite happy to see me back again. Just in time to get organised for Festival of History.
