One child down.

Small went to Wed Ed without the rest of us today. Instead I had a list of things to do and the day gradually evaporated without them being done.

Although I did help make a pirate map, encourage vlogging and find my keys, so I guess the day wasn’t a complete washout.

It would have been even better if I hadn’t lost my keys ten minutes before Big’s swimming in the first place.

But the bit of the day that stood out for me?

My first argument with Tigerboy.

His signing is coming on now. He asks for things with please, and has milk, biscuit and drink well sorted. He came and asked please milk. I said do you want a drink? We’ll go and get you a drink. And he looked at me, very clearly shook his head and signed please milk again.

So he got milk. And happiness reigned.

Communication is a good thing.

  1. Hello Jax, thanks for post.
It was so sweet… Your argument with Tigerboy was so sweet. 🙂 Mom working with sons character… It looks like it’s not gona be that easy. 🙂 Cookies and milk can be an issue. 🙂 Cheers.

  2. communication is always a good thing 🙂

    1. It definitely helps!

  3. That’s brilliant! My kids use signing, I’m a massive fan of it – it helped my 3 yr old who has severe communication difficulties to understand that there is a point in communicating and that he does have a way to make himself understood. He talks a bit now! I don’t think he would have got there without the initial boost that signing gave us

    1. My elder son signed rather than talking until he was about 3. It’s a great help.

  4. This is fantastic, signing really would help in our house but we just haven’t got on well with it. Learning to communicate, by whatever means, really is the key. Also my days sound a lot like yours!
