A 3 pound shirt and some gardening shoes

I’ve got my blogfest outfit sorted then.

Seriously. The shirt is from a charity shop. Cost me £3, rrp around 90, looks barely worn. The shoes are Tim’s, too small for him, but polish up nicely, and I’m wearing my birthday Levi 501s.

Sorted.

Who was that talking about our luxurious way of life the other day?

Shopping was a luxury. I spent 90 minutes with my teenage daughter, going in nearly every charity and clothes shop in the town, before we went back to the second one we went in to pick up the shirt. The luxury was the time and the connection I have with my teen.

We do not always see eye to eye. We often misinterpret each other, are each other’s worst nightmare. But there are these moments when it does work, and they are so worth it.

Lots to do still tomorrow. Two more sleeps.

  1. LOL – it was me but I actually meant the exact luxury you’ve described, the luxury of being able to spend the time with your kids rather than running off to an office for 9 hours a day. Good buy on the shirt – well done. And two more sleeps till what? I think I’v may have missed something here.

    1. No, I was thinking of commenter on last week’s home ed article who said that home ed is a luxury and we are well off if we’ve money left at end of week regardless of what sacrifices we’ve made to get there.
      It’s Mumsnetbloggers Blogfest tomorrow 🙂

  2. I love spending time with my 21 yr old – and I think I sometimes buy clothes with her just because we’re “shopping”. It makes it a shared experience, cos she will always find something she wants….of course it’s easier when you’re young 🙂

    1. That’s a different rant – I hated feeling like there were no clothes I wanted 🙁

  3. Great find with the shirt!
Those moments can feel few and far between with teens, can’t they?
I hope you enjoy Blogfest 🙂

    1. I had a lovely day, and felt extremely adequately clad. Yes, it’s odd to sometimes feel like you’re out with your best friend and at other points to be at complete loggerheads.
