OK, the general consensus is the first one

Although I have just found extra comments in moderation (sorry Christina!) so I’d better do a recount…

I’d need some more yarn anyway, so I guess buying enough for the first one isn’t so tough.

I’ve found this lovely cotton which isn’t overly expensive – but what colours?

I’m enjoying this. 🙂

Ooh, ooh, I found something on sale!

Do we like Flowers Variegated?

And I might do the other one in plain beige at some point as well.

  1. Flowers varigated is lovely but I like the green better cos i love little ones in really bright colours. As for the first yarn, the pink/orange/green looks great but if it’s for a really “girlie girl” then the reds would be fab!

  2. The selling of mancala sets comment was on my blog – not yours – sorry!

  3. Yep, I’m with Katy, like Pink Orange Green best 🙂

  4. I like the pastels one -subtle, but not boring

I like the pastels one and the flowers variegated. My mum used to own a wool shop and I don’t think I’ve knitted since she sold it but you are tempting me….particularly as Carys wants to learn to knit.

  6. I also like the pastels – again because any child could wear it. But, for some reason, pink/orange/green seemed to be both snappy and neutral. (Snappy meaning – exciting, hip, fashionable, chic.) I’d put the boy in a pink/orange/green item. (Then again, at the moment, he only wears orange or things with orange in them…so maybe I’m conditioned.
From knitters bazaar, I actually liked the green over flowers varigated. Again – any child could wear it.
Finally – you have beige yarn already. So it would save you the expense of buying new yarn. But, I’m always hunting for a jumper that goes with the clothing being worn at the moment. For some reason, I never have one clean when I need it. So – maybe beige is just a current longing I should investigate for myself rather than wishing it on other mothers.
