Not a history day.

We should have been at history today, doing early Greeks, Trojans and stuff. But I hadn’t written up on the newly acquired wallplanner that it was an all day outing, so we ended up with Tim needing the car at the same time we’d have had to be travelling.

So we didn’t go. The kids were very disappointed – they love to see their friends. I asked them what they wanted to do instead – Big chose swimming, and Small chose not to leave the house :rolls:

And that was our day. I ran – a gentle mile – in the morning, played around on twitter while the kids were doing their maths and stuff (helped Big with conversions, and Small with geometry) then after lunch walked the girls to swimming (Big walked, Smallest rode 😉 ) while Small stayed at home with Tim and played on the computer.

Big had Guides tonight, now in the new Guide depot, which annoyingly means I have to drive her there. It’s just a little too far for walking in the dark – maybe by summer evenings we’ll have bikes sorted out and I’ll be able to ride there with her. And Small played on the computer some more – he’s done some fab art work that he’s now using as a desktop. Must get him to stick some more of his stuff on his blog actually.

Smallest loves swimming it turns out. So much so that she’s rather difficult to hold on to in the water! I’ve not had a baby react this way – I’m not sure how it’s supposed to work. Annoyingly the fun pool isn’t open during the day during the week – the baby pool is, but not the one with the shallow sloping end. Will have to consider the parent toddler sessions – but you aren’t allowed to bring children older than toddlers to them, rather letting out my home educated giants. Wonder if I could talk the swimming pool into doing a home educators session, or at least a session open to slightly older children…

Hm. Thoughts for another day. Swimming has tired out the baby and she’s asleep before midnight, so I’m going to try to do the same.
