Small and I walked into town on our own on Tues morning, as he was in need of new crocs and new suntan lotion. He hadn’t told me that his previous crocs were too small, and I’d noticed when checking his legs over after the sunburn that he’d got small marks on his feet where the joint bits were rubbing 🙁 Note to self, ask Small about sizes more frequently, he doesn’t notice!
The first shop we tried had crocs on sale but none in his size, which was a shame, as they were lovely multicoloured affairs. It was also a shame as they sell all sorts of odd little toys that he liked the look of, and got very upset when I said I wouldn’t buy 🙁
So I dragged him miserably down to the road to another shoe shop and bought him blue crocs which are good apparently, then we popped into Savers for suntan lotion. They are all sold out of the no-ad stuff I’ve been using, so we had to go up to the Ambre Garnier 50+ spray, not such a bad idea as I really want to make sure his legs are protected for the rest of this year. This particular pack had a hat with it which he said we could keep for the baby, aww…
home for lunch and a quietish afternoon until it was time to start getting ready for swimming. I started over an hour ahead of leaving time as I was aware that I hadn’t seen his trunks since he’d come home from WF’s in them last week. Found them in a heap at the bottom of his bed, sigh.
Then I instituted the book of lists. As writing a list had worked really well the last time we went out I decided I’d write out the common ones we need in a book rather than wasting paper and effort every time we are leaving the house! Small loved the idea, and as long as I don’t lose the book, we’re sorted 🙂
So, bags packed with everything for swimming and walking on a very grey day we set out. And stopped one road over to put our cag in a bags on as the rain was getting steadily heavier.
Children were only a bit moany about walking half a mile in the rain, I was quite proud of them. 🙂 Swimming lessons went well as well, with a smoother handover between as Big got her costume on when Small did, cutting down her required changing time. Took ages to shower and dress Small again, but hey, you can’t have everything. And then home, where Tim had sausages ready cooked for them, and then they were slotted into bed.
