One child downstairs moaning, the other upstairs whinging, and all because I stopped the den game because I couldn’t stand the constant bickering and screaming!
Bleargh.
What was that about cabin fever? Wonder if getting out to the shops counts as a change of scenery? I need to go to the bank, and I need big pots for my trees (assuming they haven’t just mouldered away to nothing in the garage. What kind of fool was I assuming I was going to get around to planting them???)
And I know I’m probably hormonal, and I’m definitely SAD – thought that there were signs of spring the other day but it’s trying to snow today.
Annoyed myself with Ebay – listed a whole bunch of things (well, OK, 10) a week ago when it was cheap day, have only sold two of them, and they appear to be the two that I’d underquoted on postage. Figures. Still, it’s two more books out of the house. Sold one on Amazon this week as well so actually made a bit of money on Sign with Your Baby: How to Communicate with Infants Before They Can Speak. Found a couple more to list on there, but went to look and both titles are already flooded out with cheap copies (like 1p and 10p
How are ppl making a living doing that? Are they making a living doing that?
Spent last night windowshopping for hat looms. Had a chat with Kris last week (or maybe even the week before thinking about it) about making one, but can’t get my head around it, and it’s never going to happen this year given everything else I’m trying to do, so I gave up and went shopping for some. Found some on Amazon.com, Knifty Knitter Round Loom Set With Hook & Bag, but they won’t ship to this country. Figures.
Did you ever just have one of those days? Went to empty the recycling and discovered an unpleasant banana skin at the bottom of it, so had to wash the recycling again *and* the bin it lives in!
Oh, and the cat smells.
I almost wish it was a work day 🙁

The other day my Mum mentioned someone she’d talked to who’d made £500 selling books on Amazon – how?!! I’ve sold a few here and there but how does one find out what sells reliably, in order to buy them in from charity shops or something?
P.S. I did wonder if on Ebay people make money on the postage rather than the item.
I’m not going to say, “cheer up.” It won’t help. Neither will, “this to shall pass.” Because that always feels naively optomistic.
But – I was in the same place recently. And I have to say. My own imaginery sun has come back out.
As to the wishing it was a work day….nah….that just increases my aggravation. I’m longing for the days when I didn’t have to do it. (And I’m only doing 10 hours a week – but – that’s enough for the spear point of disruption to puncture my little bubble of calm focus.)
So – I guess I’ll just say – gotta stand back and admire your ability to perservere. How strong and wonderful you are! Isn’t your family lucky to have you! (You can pass that one along from me as a neutral observer. 😉
Oh Jax… you are in good (bad?) company. I am vaguely sure that life will be wonderful again but in the mean time, venting is good for you!!!
Thank you all.
I’ve found that the postage on Amazon on second hand books brings in a little extra on paperbacks, but isn’t enough if you are selling manuals. So I won’t be doing that again.
Christina, thanks for the lovely comment. I’ll be sure to let them know.
Katy, it will.
Yes, you need to be careflu about the wieght of things on Amazon, unless it’s something you can sell at a reasonable price and take the hit on the postage. I don’t find them a particualrly successful way to sell, tbh.
Don’t know if you are interested but they do Nifty Knitter looms here – http://www.fun2do.co.uk/shop/29/295/index.htm but sadly they cost a fair bit more than in the US 🙁 BUT, you can get individual ones to play with rather than forking out for the full set 🙂
I am interested, and I’d found that eventually way way down on my google search, but I found a much nicer set made by a woman in the states who was actually interested in talking to me, so I’m getting some from her.
Thanks for the thought though, and I’ll keep you updated on how we get on.
