My achievements today

One lot of washing out, another in the machine.

Pruned the blogring. (Welcome home Debbie!)

Dealt with email enquiry re tape I’m selling – now all I’ve got to do is find the tape and the box at the same time! Aargh.

Made Big cry and say contemplatively “I wish I had a different mummy.” 🙁 Called her stupid for the first time ever – but was absolutely frantic at the time as she’d wrapped a skipping rope six times round her neck and I couldn’t get it off.

Wish I could go back to bed…was trying so hard to be accessible to them today – they’ve breakfasted, lunched, both dressed, I’ve played with them, gone to see the sunflower that is finally opening.

Oh well. Try harder this afternoon.

  1. Erm… i’m afraid i would probably have called her something similar too, had she been one of mine. I reduced Fran to tears very rapidly after she double footed me in the tummy at camp with wild abandon by telling her had the baby not been right over the other side at the time she might well have killed it 🙁 Not a nice thing to say to her and i regretted it instantly but to be honest, she knew better iykwim?

  2. Doesn’t really help, but when Hannah got lost at the farm park, while I smacked her, I do also have a recollection of doing a rant along the lines of “you selfish, naughty little girl”. 🙁 I just hope that in the end I say enough nice positve things as well. I’m sure you do.

  3. The worse thing for me is when I find myself thinking things that my mother used to say to me – not repeatable anywhere! Fortunately I don’t actually say them to Little chick but once or twice I have definitely regretted saying some things to her. You are only human Jax and when we are so worried about them when things like the skipping rope incident happens we can’t think straight because of ‘what if’ scenarios.

  4. I would have said exactly the same Jax, if not worse. I would have panicked! You are human, and have done nothing to beat yourself up about. Here, have a hug ((((u))))

  5. C has often said she would like a different Mummy. 2 of her best friends are adopted, so she sometimes thinks it would be a good option for her too!

  6. Ah, you put my walking blog on your links. Thank you 🙂
