Must try harder.

when I don’t blog regularly, I forget what we’ve been doing. I don’t like having gaps in my memory, so I prefer it when I’m blogging regularly. Must try harder.

Yesterday we were at the beans. The children got up early and skatered (I believe that’s the right term 😉 ) – as I don’t believe either of my children have been on skates before, I was surprised how well they managed. I lazed, which was wonderful 🙂

Lunch was pasta and sauce, and I’d expected Small to throw a wobbly saying that it wasn’t a lunch meal but a tea meal. I was completely right about the wobbly, but utterly wrong about the child that threw it – Big got no sympathy at all, and had it pointed out firmly that she used to have pasta and sauce at school for lunch. 🙁

And then we headed home. It was a good run home apart from the last 10 miles or so on the M62. I’m not going to miss the M62 one little bit. It added about 30 minutes to the journey, which was depressing to say the least. Not that it was a problem for the children, both of them slept for the vast majority of the journey 🙂

Children fed, bathed and inserted into bed, although they didn’t go to sleep particularly early. I stayed up way to late again (must stop doing that).

This morning Big didn’t get up until after 10, and has been reading, played recorder and piano. She’s on a computer ban for indefensible behaviour towards a 4 year old atm.

Small didn’t get up until 11.40, had breakfast and then curled himself up looking sad and saying he was cold. I suggested that he got dressed, but apparently that wasn’t a good idea, and instead he has made paper airplanes and written a letter to Princess to thank her for sending on the missing piece of his batmobile.

Right now they are planning next weekend’s event – Small is still annoyed that he didn’t get a 5th birthday party, and apparently that has to happen before we move, so we are now working towards a combined 5th birthday and moving out party. Anyone up for it?

They went running off to look for a recipe book to make a cake, but have come running back saying I’ve to look it up on Deliaonline. They could do it, but as Small is on a computer ban as well, for behaviour when getting ready to go away, it wouldn’t really work too well.

I do like this autonomy thing though. They really are working on educating themselves pretty efficiently, and the way she’s reading would have to be described as full-time 😆

Oh, and I got part 1 of TMA 01 back this morning. Apparently I again managed to misunderstand a question, this time one of the mathcad ones, so I got 0 marks for that part. Bleargh. Missed a couple of other marks as well, so that took me down to 34/40. Room for improvement then. I’m getting a new tutor apparently when I move (got email back from them this morning) but I’m assuming the rest of this assignment goes to this tutor before we move. Hohum.

  1. We’ve already been to Small’s 5th birthday. But we could do it all over again…

  2. He wants a party. Apparently he didn’t have a party. (Must find out what constitutes a party otherwise it’s all going to go horribly wrong again.)
