Mummy, you *can* have less than nothing

-1, -2, -3, -4, -5, -6!

Guess that Exeter lesson stuck then 😉

Reading is coming along – she read words not in a book (on the side of a baby monitor to be precise 🙂 ) the other day. Music appreciation has had some serious work recently – two long car journeys with a little voice behind me joining in (“This is the chorus, isn’t it?”)

Actually, I should have blogged the journey back in its own right. They had the bag of toys between them on the back seat, and every time I looked to check, Small had another different item. I love the way he looks at books, ever so carefully. And he played with his cars, the little bead frame, cuddled a doll – he was cute. He does a good cute. Couldn’t really see what Big was doing, but just the fact that she didn’t ask every 5 miles when we were going to be there is blogworthy (she drove me up the wall on the way there, especially as we got stuck in traffic and made what should be a four hour journey into very nearly a six hour one. Still from other blogs sounds like it wasn’t such a bad idea, wasn’t very windy when I was putting my tent up 😉 )

The bit that made me giggle the most in the car though was the announcement that “2 + 3 + 1 is 6”. I have no idea where that came from!

Right, back into the swing of things today – meeting with feminist friends at M’hell this morning, then off to our puddlers group this aft. We’ve nicked the colour theme from Merry, although we aren’t nearly as organised as she was! It’ll be hama, colouring, maybe some spinners, and that should keep everyone out of mischief.

  1. I’m inpressed with their maths ability. How old are they? Lucy’s maths goes somewhat like this, Me: “If I have 2 sweets then give you 3 more, how many will you have?” Lucy (confidently):”Oh I know that, that’s 6″ snigger. Maybe I should just give up the HE;-)

  2. All the maths is Big at the moment – she was 5 in January. Amazes me how she is picking up stuff from the occasional workbook session, bit of class tv, and the odd conversation. Who’d have thought it, eh? 😉
