more recommended reading.

Robin McKinley‘s book Sunshine has been recommended by NPR as an excellent book to take your mind of a gruesome plane journey. I’m looking forward to reading Dragonhaven if I ever manage to find it in a UK bookshop (it’s slightly embarrassing that she lives here in the UK and yet most ppl don’t including booksellers don’t appear to have heard of her), I’ve yet to read a Robin McKinley book that I haven’t loved and cherished and wanted to read and reread. I’m into reading at the moment, life appears to require some escapism just now, although I think I’ve just worked my way through the last three I borrowed from Jonathan. Will have to do you yet another review.

With the escapism requirement in mind, what book or author would you recommend I take up next? Answers on your own blog or in the comments – maybe we could get a bit of a meme going, and perhaps we could even try a postal book exchange? I know mybookyourbook has folded, but there’s no reason we can’t do it ourselves on a smaller scale. In fact, I’ll kick it off, does anyone want me to send Grimspace orThe Companions (Gollancz S.F.) (Sally?) in the post on the condition that they’ll offer something to send on to someone else? (I’d like something eventually but I think it would be nice to spread it around a bit, iykwim. Oh, and don’t put your address in the comment, anyone who wants a book, I’ll mail you. And if you haven’t got a blog of your own to do this, happy to offer a page for coordination of offers 🙂 )
