So we provided one.
He wasn’t this sad throughout the whole day, this was because of the sticks in the ground – they were for rounders, but he felt it was deeply wrong to shove things into the ground, and I had to remonstrate to get him to leave them there. On some levels, he’s probably right.
The bloke behind the camera is Bil. The other one is the other b-i-l who is also often seen behind a camera, but not today for some reason.
Big got a kite at the party yesterday. Have I blogged the party yesterday? Maybe not actually. I may have to do some date stamp fiddling and post yesterday as well. Anyway, there was a kite, and she was desperate to fly it, so it came out with us today. But there were variable wind levels so at some points, it was more dragging than flying.
And then there was wind, and it was good. She did a great job with this – it’s just a cheap kite from Woolies but I could tell she was really enjoying herself with it. She also did a great job making sure that everyone else got a turn too, and didn’t get upset if they didn’t look after it as well as she was doing. Applause to her.
Can’t believe I didn’t get any decent shots of Princess or Scott, but I didn’t. Another time. It was a good afternoon, lots of sun, dry enough to sit on the grass, games for the kids. I wasn’t really in a company mood, but I survived – should have taken some crochet with me really then at least I’d have had an excuse for seeming oh so far away.
Then we got home and behaviour deteriorated rapidly, ending in Big biting Small in the bath. Can’t remember the last time she did that, and certainly not to the point where she’s broken the skin as she has tonight. So she didn’t really get a story, but she did cuddle up with Tim and look at pictures while Small read Read at Home: More Level 2A: Super Dad and Read at Home: More Level 1B: Picnic Time
to me. He’s gone upstairs to look for hidden birds in another ORT book now, hoping that this spurt into reading is going to carry on, as it’s really rather exciting.
