Meal planning Monday with added achievements.

Yeah, yeah, I know it’s Tuesday. Actually I have to keep reminding myself it’s not Wednesday. They changed our bin collection day from Wednesday to Tuesday, and I think it’s seeing the bins on the road and hearing them being dragged about that’s confusing me. Which of course doesn’t explain why I’m finishing Monday’s post off on Tuesday tonight.

Kind of it’s the way life is atm. Struggling to get Smallest into bed – last night because she’d managed to nap at some point, it took me over an hour, at which point I was so flaked there was no way I was getting up, even to finish blogging. But this post was started, and I want to do the meal planning so that I only have to think about it once this week, so here we go.

Monday: Freezer tea – courtesy of the BirdsEye vouchers I need to use up. Steak pies for the rest of the family, Linda McCartney for me, family freezer pack of veg. [and if I had written this first I’d have been coming back to complain – the veg was completely inedible. No idea why, it was discoloured and deeply unpleasant. So not a successful tea at all 🙁 Quite nice that Big said she couldn’t eat her pie because she’s used to proper home cooked food now though 😉 ]

Tuesday – veg stew with dumplings.

Wednesday – bolognese – standard for the carnivores, mushroom for me.

Thursday (home made) pizza night.

Friday – fish and chips – take out!

Saturday – sausage, mash, veg.

Sunday – Jacket potatoes – cheese, beans, sliced meats.

Oh, and the achievement? I finally started a new crochet project.

Gave up on the beads, but sequins will look good, right?

  1. lord, now I want fish n chips!!!!!

  2. We recently got a new nearby fish and chip shop, and it’s really good – I could eat dinner from there most nights!
I meal-planned on Monday too, and internet-shopped, which I haven’t done for ages for some reason. (Probably because it’s so tedious.) Got highly organised in September and cooked triple helpings of everything for a week and then had a freezerful of food. Was most disappointing when it was all gone!

  3. meal planning is something I always threaten to do and never quite get round to. Really must try to do it as I’m sure we would eat better if I had a plan rather than gawping vacantly into the freezer and wondering what to eat!

  4. It’s been a while since I popped in here – it looks like your meal planning is going really well. I love Big’s comment about the pie. Total proof of progress!
