I've learnt a lot this week

I’ve learnt that sometimes you don’t realise how lovely the friends are you’ve made, until it really counts. And that having friends then feels really rather wonderful. Like being wrapped up in the warmest, kindest, most accepting and least judgemental hug.

I’ve learnt about broken and departed numbers. Anyone who thinks the tudors were uneducated really doesn’t know what they’re talking about.

I’ve learnt how to manage multiple small children heading in opposite directions. Tip – teamwork helps.

I’ve learnt that taking a break from online life is rather a good idea. I took my phone with me, and in ten days away from electricity, I didn’t flatten the battery, I was online that little. And in such a different environment, I didn’t miss it.

I’ve learnt that actually, if someone gives me a hand, I don’t hate sewing quite as much as I thought. Sitting on the front sward, sewing a sleeve was quite therapeutic.

I’ve learnt a lot this past week. How about you?

  1. I want to know about broken and departed numbers. I tried to drink up your experience via the blog but I think one has to be there. Glad you had a wonderful time. If you want to write a few detailed posts about it I’d be very interested to read anything.

I have so much to write about it all. There’s the tudor bit of it. Then there’s the community bit of it after hours. And the inner bit of it. So expect several posts. And I’m hoping to sneak about with a camera for a while at the weekend, and get some better pictures too. Honestly I feel so revived emotionally, even though I’m a bit wiped out physically. It’s such a magical place. Even though lots of it is utterly exhausting, but perhaps that’s part of what revives me, making me feel a bit more real?

  2. Sounds like a wonderful week
