I'm playing on Empire Avenue.

That’s a verification code so I can link my blog to my profile. Apparently when I do that, I’ll get something out of it.

I’m not really sure what it’s all about though. I came across it as the next Klout – I’m not really sold on Klout, given how it can be gamed, and how it doesn’t take real life into account, but I rank fairly highly on it anyway. I think that’s to do with an excessive amount of time spent on twitter 😉

Apparently it’s going to be big, according to Randy Gage. I’m not sure who he is either, but he is big on Empire Avenue, so either we’ve got something majorly circular going on (always possible in the incestuous world of social media) or he could be right.

What you do is sign up (through my lovely referral link please, then we both get a bonus) create your profile, link your other social networks and then get buying and selling. When ppl buy you, you get more EAVES, which you can then use for further buying sprees.

It’s also supposed to reflect your social network activity, and improve your connections – jury’s out on that as far as I’m concerned, but hey, it’s more fun than fb games, and I need another social media addiction. (Not.)

Let me know if you join up so I can buy you 😉

  1. I tried to sign up for the wikio blog rankings that you have. I came a cropper when I had to install feeds on my blog. I thought I had them already but apparrently they don’t work. As I’m not sure what they’re for I cannot test them to see if they work or not. So I think I’ll wait on this one for a bit. But please let us know if it changes your life and I will reconsider. (And I will write to Klout and tell them you majorly influenced me 🙂 ).

    1. Just checked your blog and your feeds are fine – did wikio struggle with them somehow? They are what ppl use to subscribe to your blog in a reader – according to google reader you’ve 33 subscribers already 🙂 hth.
And as to empire avenue changing my life – somehow I doubt it! But it’s worth a try, right?

  2. Thanks for spreading the word on this!

  3. Well I joined up purely to endorse your blog for you. Since then have been active on there and so far it seems to be quite fun. My blog fully endorsed and waiting to see what happens when it catches up with calculating all your social media interactions which takes 6 day apparently!
I would like to add have already ended up in contact with lovely owner of two Montessori Schools in UK and have been having some great discussions around what we both do. Was fascinated to read about how close their thoughts around antenatal bonding ( they describe it differently) and mine coincide. The research we both have done seem to have drawn same conclusions.
So I will stick for it for a while but so far quite impressed, it could be great networking tool or just another way to lose couple of hours a day 😉

  4. Oh poo! Should of read this first before joining.

    1. aw, never mind! I’ll tootle over and buy you anyway 🙂
