you’d think we could make it to group on time, wouldn’t you? But somehow the morning evaporated, and we weren’t there until 11. Minor meltdown in the car when Big remembered that she’d forgotten the doll she’d borrowed from a friend a couple of weeks ago. She wanted to turn back, but we were almost there, so we arrived with her looking very gloomy.
Sal was just arriving as we did, and Y came out to give me a hand – just as well as I was facing a choice between dropping the coats or the child…
The new rooms are huge, well one of them is. And there’s a decent kitchen, and we’ve a smaller room booked as well. Activities going on at all sorts of levels today – bigger kids went off to the small room, smaller kids were painting plaster figures, smaller kids still were playing with tents. I mainly sat and looked dazed, and attempted to make appropriate noises when ppl talked to me. Not sure how successful I was though…
Small was a bit clingy to begin with – think he found it all a bit noisy. He got over it eventually and went to play in a tent. Fell out of it three times (splitting his lip the third time – ouch) before finally figuring out that he needed to step over the door sill.
Big didn’t join in with painting, which surprised me, but there was plenty of running and playing. All in all a pretty good session – and we’re doing musical instruments next week, so I might manage to declutter some of my junk pile!
Got back and decided to try the painted leaf rubbings as recommended by Rosie – not quite sure what we’re doing wrong, but they don’t look anything like her efforts. 🙁 Oh well, at least I feel like we’ve tried.
Think we’ll try finishing off her clock now, although we have got the tv on, which doesn’t bode desperately well…

Aaagh! I was going to go today but I thought it wasn’t on any more. I was so close to picking up the phone too. Glad it went well though. You’ll have to post a picture of the clock.
Your conversational skills matched mine so that was OK. Dino had the most major melt down I have seen in ages! Glad the welsh cakes went down well! Hopefully see you soon.
Oh i so know about evaporating mornings – i’ve come to the conclusion that i am allergic to “on time” – i can just about manage if Fran really helps or if i have paid money in advance but if Fran isn’t in the mood or i “can miss it” then i am sunk!!!
We’re getting better at getting out the house (although still manage to be late when it’s all four of us – can’t work that out, double the adults but still takes longer?) but I think it’s a novelty at the moment for the kids to be ‘helpful’ – that and the flipside being to stay in and fall out with each other 🙂
Sounds like a good day though (do you think we are taking this synchronised days thing too far?:-D)
MERRY!!!!
Welcome Home Hunny!! Glad to see you back.

My day wasn’t in synch LOL – I wish we had a great home ed group up and running – problems over here for both groups in one way or another. I am definitely catching the nearly late bug – I worry when I am ‘on time’ and not early LOL You still managed to get some education done though Jax well done.
