Ground to a halt – can't find the sunhat!

I *hate* packing. And in half an hour I’ve to load Big up and take her off to ballet. Hm, wonder if it makes sense to go in the big car and fill up with petrol and so on while I’m out. Could drop off the library books as well. *Still* haven’t posted my crochet squares, which is making me feel extraordinarily guilty.

Sticking to the plan to pack (the car) this evening, leave in the morning I think. Can’t wrap my head around the idea of going out this evening, so I’m not.

Did blogring admin this morning – will whizz around again in the morning and hibernate all Hesfessers unless otherwise requested. Got a couple of bits of work to do tonight, which will at least keep me occupied.

Feel oddly dissatisfied, probably with the effort I’m having to put into finding all the things I need to pack. Didn’t go out shopping today either, feeling rather rough (don’t worry Merry, nothing catching 😉 ) so will be seeking supermarket somewhere on the way. Wonder if there’s a tesco en route, then we could lunch there as well.

Did I mention I hate packing?

  1. I wouldn’t worry too much about the sunhat 😉 Have been trying to persuade mine to take jeans and t-shirts not shorts and t-shirts.
I hate packing too, if it’s any consolation. Probably not much.

  2. Yeah, packing sucks.
    Unpacking too.
Have been avoiding it for the last hour …

  3. ooh, yeah, unpacking’s almost as bad – not quite, though. Meet you here for unpacking avoidance in a week and a day then – I’m coming home on Friday but I’m sure I can leave the unpacking for an extra day just so that I can empathise with you next Saturday 😉

  4. I HATE packing too Jax.
But I’m not convinced you’ll need the sunhat 🙁

  5. I’ll probably come home Friday evening again as well – makes it feel like a bit less hassle packing up throughout the day rather than getting up on Saturday and doing it all. Get a whole weekend at home too. But I’ll get home about midnight, I’m certainly not unpacking then, so I’ll be here Saturday avoiding it 😉
(Have actually done a little since my last comment!)

  6. I’m packing too, and hating it mostly due to the presence of children…. I’m sure it would be easier in a more straightforward climate, so you could take *just* shorts or *just* woolies instead of having to take enough of everything to cope with any sort of weather all week long!

  7. That sounds like a plan re leaving Alison – roughly what we did last year isn’t it? Don’t like the idea of trying to strike camp in a hurry on Sat morning.

  8. Yeah, i anticipate leaving thursday night. Oh the other hand, i am packed 😉

  9. I’m mostly packed now I think, loads of room left in the van though, so I may not be, lol!
Yep Jax, that’s what we did last year 🙂
I’ve taken a pair of shorts or two as a concession to the children’s eternal optimism, but basically it’s jumpers 🙂 Be very happy to be proved wrong though!

  10. Mmm, it’s having the whole weekend at home that I’m after, next w/e. Steve will be working though so I’ll have plenty of time to avoid unpacking. I reckon packing would be fine if you could just pack for yourself, rather than for unpredictable children. I found some nappies lurking under a chest of drawers and have persuaded Joe to wear them at night, hopefully save myself the wet bed scenario that way …
I’m pretty much packed save washbags, kids’ stuff to do, oh, and actually putting it *in* the car. Still waiting to see if Steve’s actually going to come or if I have to stuff it all in my car!

  11. Got the putting it in the car bit to do. And try to find the other camp lantern, I know *one* is in in Big’s room, but where did the other one go? Clothes are done, bedding, towels, have located most of the cooking stuff. Sigh. Why am I so disorganised?

  12. If I’ve caught you in time, don’t worry about hibernating me, I have this fanciful idea that I might blog while we’re there 😉 Have a good journey, see you later!
