First visitors

As mentioned earlier, we were due visitors on Saturday evening. We texted with Helen, letting her know our eta following our lunch stop and she set off at a time that should have meant she arrived about the same time as us. However, it would appear that Helen drives a little faster than Tim, and she beat us home by 15 minutes! They found ice creams at the coop so it wasn’t too disastrous.

Ordered pizza online – won’t be doing that again 🙁 It took two hours to arrive and then had the feeblest garlic bread you ever saw. I mean honestly, if you’ve ordered a deal with two large pizzas, chicken wings and pizza wedges, wouldn’t you expect slightly more garlic bread than a miniature french stick type with only 6 slices (including ends) to it? I’ve emailed the company to complain about their service and unsurprisingly, had absolutely no response, not even an acknowledgement 🙁

Despite the steadily rising level of starvation, the kids did pretty well together, apart from Small kicking bb in the chest while still wearing his shoes. I recall there was a reason for this (the kicking, rather than the shoes) but I can’t recall what it was, and I once again went over the “don’t hurt ppl, come and find mummy” alternative. Think bb was pretty much alright after a wail and cuddle though.

Once food had (very quickly) been eaten, we processed children into bed, and then spent the next couple of hours chatting to each other, while warning the children that they really needed to go to sleep. Think they finally dropped off not long before midnight! We stayed up even later, with Tim and Helen enjoying a bottle of wine (well, I assume that they enjoyed it 😉 ) and us having varied conversations mainly putting the political world to rights.

Next morning we had planned a walk but somehow the hours disappeared – the children played outside, resulting in several minor injuries. Amazed to discover that there are children even clumsier than mine 😉 Popped into town myself for party food and presents and then it was time for the off.
