End of week activity report.

A while back I posted about the woman in the mirror.

I set myself a challenge. To run or write, every morning. Daily mile or the artist’s way morning pages.

I’m pleased to report that I’m keeping to my challenge more often than not. But in terms of fitness and weight loss it’s not working terribly well yet. So I am trying to also increase my standard daily activity levels. I wear a pedometer that I bought at Lidl a few weeks ago, and it records how far you’ve walked each day, and clears itself each Sunday night. So I thought I’d start writing a weekly record post so that I could cheer myself on.

This week, according to the pedometer I’ve walked 37.7 km.

Mon – 6.17 km. Tues – 8.97 km. Weds – 2.95 km. Thurs – 5.92 km. Fri – 4.53 km. Sat – 5.18 km. Sun – whatever’s left! (4736 steps anyway. Rather fewer than the 6000 target 🙁 )

I’ve done 2 runs, 1 splash in the pool (though no swimming sadly) and 3 morning pages. (missed twice, not so good.)

My personal challenge for this week is to print out a good chart for the yoga salute to the sun routine and try to build that into our days as well. I need to strengthen my back. My mothering challenge for the week is to listen to my children and try to build more of what they want to do into our days. Which tomorrow will mean a trip to the secondhand game store for Small and a fun swim for Big. And my blogging challenge is to do it more. And design a badge for anyone who’d like to join in in cheering on anyone who is challenging themselves too.

Please let me know how you are doing if you’ve been trying to live otherwise recently 🙂

  1. I’m trying to say Yes to the children more. I said No a lot during late pregnancy and prodromal labour. Time to change that.
