Quite literally. The night before last, for example, I dreamt that my old primary school had closed, and that we managed to take it over and turn it into an erdkinder, right down to having free range chickens in the garden area (just as we did when I was at primary school there). If anyone at the Cosmic supply company is listening, please consider these dreams a firm request 😉
It’s been a busy couple of days, dreaming aside. I didn’t have to feed chickens rabbits (d’oh! – got chickens on the brain now) on Saturday, so that was quite nice – yesterday I went down to school and took the kids with me for an hour and we did animals and watering. I’ve been finding it quite annoying that my three day RSS weather forecast feed keeps predicting rain in the future, but somehow never having it today. And that despite it being really rather windy – there are an awful lot of leaves, twigs and even branches down from the trees along by the park. Today I went to school on my own and was there about three hours – one of the other members of staff wanted to come down and do some stuff, so I occupied myself with rabbits, watering and weeding. (Yes, the rain retreated again.)
Then I came back for lunch, then we carted off down to the old house and sorted through some stuff to find toys for offspring – got them each to fill a toybox and explained that some things will be going to charity shops or ebay or the dump, to give them time to make sure that they recover everything they really want. After they’d done that I dropped them off with Kirsty (thank you!) while Tim and I did more sorting – filling two car boots (and the boot of the mondeo was actually the backseat too iykwim) made depressingly little difference. Still, at least it made a little difference – we really need to get the house sorted this week, and I’ve got an awful lot of other things to do this week too.
Home very late, and just in time for the children to realise that they don’t have presents for Tim’s birthday (tomorrow). This is completely my fault, for some reason I was convinced that his birthday was on Saturday, despite knowing full well what date it’s on and when Small’s birthday is. Hohum. I can see I’m going to have to do a lot of grovelling about that one.
Anyway, it’s time for tea and cake, and then I might do some more reading on this rather excellent site I’ve found about school farms. Well, it looks fairly good at first view, it might not pan out when I get into it, but it’s a resource.
