Delayed birthday presents.

Small’s final birthday present was delivered at 8.33 this morning (I know this as it was just after Tim switched off his alarm and went to roll over, but instead shot out of bed and got dressed double quick 😉 ), it’s a Harry Potter Defensive magic 4 pack. As you can imagine, this meant we were back in full Harry Potter mode for the day.

He’s done really well for his birthday this year. He’s loved the books, already finished Esio Trot. The Ben 10 Comic Maker Kit kept him very happy, he really enjoyed making a comic and was thrilled when it was bound with a cover. And as for the utterly fantastic Commander Nova’s Pop-up Alien Space Station, well Tim and I adore it. And the kids have played with it for ages too 🙂

So, much playing today. And some watching of tv, until the media centre gave up the ghost around lunchtime. They retired to the bedroom with the Potter set and generally got along OK, until just before teatime, when a fall out resulted in Small beating Big across the back and having his new toys confiscated for a day 🙁

I hated doing it, he cried. But I am running out of ways to get through to him that he mustn’t attack ppl like that. So we had a very rocky evening as he attempted to barter for other consequences and I held firm.

Then he went to bed and after he’d been in bed for ages he got up to ask me what mif or myf means. Turns out he meant myth, as he’d read it in Chamber of Secrets. Always enjoy these late night conversations! Put him right on that and sent him back to bed, hopefully to go to sleep this time.

And we watched some tv. And now I’m going to bed too.
