Big has decided she wants to learn to cross stitch. This is something that I get to do rather than Tim (not quite sure whether to be thrilled about that or not tbh).
Anyone the kit we bought came with 12 threads which is what it said on the box, but they are only in 4 colours. The included designs require a whole selection of colours we haven’t got.
So I’ve found this:
Cross stitch guide and she’s chosen this
Wish me luck.

oh gosh!
I think Merry has some links to somewhere that sells cross stitch kits with the pattern already printed on the fabric. Would be tempted to try that first personally….. or indelible marker so you could mark the design onto the fabric… or plastic canvass cos the holes are normally bigger… but then I’m a wuss (as has been stated previously!)
it’s OK, I dug out a kit we’ve had for years, which is a postman pat van, and she’s managed about 10 stitches before going off in a huff… 😉
We use craft cord which is an awful lot easier to handle 🙂
I’ve got plenty of binca if you want me to send you some.
I’ve got binca too, if you’d like some. C and M can both manage it.
I got something along the line of binca at the craft store – do I have any idea where it is???? Jan, I might do you a swap for some laminating pouches next time we’re over 😉
Merry, what’s craft cord?
Blimey, I really was going to wish you luck with that one!
Daisy Designs have lots of good beginning stuff.
Elijah also enjoyed doing his initial with a running stitch border (I marked it onto the binca, though Big may be at the counting stage).
